Jungle congas, whisking shakers and Caribbean chimes float within this beautifully composed remix like the beckoning of the coming summer, so far away in reality but brought closer just by listening. Of Monsters and Men receives a facelift that uplifts and, though retaining its emotional brevity, it also proves to soar effortlessly in feel good vibes and it’s quite easy to sway side to side to the tune. Thomas Jack is a new name to me though he has been making quite a bit of noise in the States to hail from Australia. At the age of 20 he’s managed to acquire the succinct pleasure of having both a nod from Tiesto as well as 4 #1 releases on the Hype Machine charts in just the last 60 days alone. His music is calm and musically grounded, his approach consistent and the ambition matched by skill, something you don’t always see in house hopefuls.
